WELCOME TO FERRARA MEADOWS
Situated in a picturesque area along the Rideau Canal, with over 90 acres of parkland, Sensational Smiths Falls is a beautiful town with plenty to see and do. The Town is often referred to as “The Heart of the Rideau” as the Rideau Canal, Ontario’s first World Heritage Site (UNESCO), cuts directly through the town. This town has a population of approximately 9000 and is a town rich in history and heritage. In the 1850s, CN Rail and CP Rail chose Smiths Falls to become a major focal point for their rail lines that would run between the major cities in Ontario. These rail lines and buildings form what is today a Via Rail line directly into Ottawa for commuters.
The main street of Smiths Falls has now become a huge tourist attraction with its stately architecture and small shops, restaurants and businesses. Although there has been several large business closures in the last few years, Smiths Falls is a resilient, vibrant community that continues to expand and attract new business and home buyers. It’s affordable housing makes it attractive for people of all ages including seniors who are looking to downsize and move to a quieter lifestyle. Ferrara Meadows is rapidly becoming the neighbourhood of choice in Smiths Falls. It is set back off the main streets, away from the hustle and bustle, but easily within walking distance to all amenities. Also adjacent to the subdivision is the Cataraqui Trail, an old right of way that runs from Smiths Falls to Kingston and also ties into the Trans Canada Trail system. It is the perfect trail to walk the dog or simply enjoy a stroll with a loved one.
